After our Calcite Mine hike, we grabbed dinner in Borrego Springs and then headed out to Font's Point for the sunset. Font's Point has some of the best view of the Borrego Badlands.
The Badlands consists of soft, waterborne sediments that have been deeply carved by water and wind over many thousands of years. Because the area’s clay soils are weak and plant life is sparse, flash floods and other erosive forces have shaped the landscape into a bewildering maze of sinuous channels, razorback ridges, and mud hills.
Font's Point is also considered to have some of the best sunsets in the park. It's hard to argue with that statement. What a way to finish our first trip to the park.
There was a large crowd to watch the sunset but it was quiet as most people took in the moment and appreciated the incredible views.
